Rick Sandberg is the oldest of 9 children born to Dick and Helen Sandberg in Chicago, Illinois. At an early age, the family moved to Wheaton, where Rick attended St. Michael’s Elementary School, St. Francis HS, and went on to play basketball, as a walk-on, at Creighton University. He transferred to Regis University, Denver (Regis College at the time), in his 3rd year of school, and went on to earn his bachelors degree.
Rick married Sue (Kartheiser), in 1979. Sue, the 4th of 10 children, was raised in Winfield. Together, they moved to Naperville , where they raised their 5 children, and lived for 30 years. Rick and Sue currently live in Winfield, where Rick combines his knowledge of the Naperville market, with his experience in Winfield, and Wheaton. He has vast marketing experience in DuPage, Will, Kane, Kendall and Lake Counties.
After spending 15 years in the corporate world, Rick became his career as a full time Realtor in 1991. He specializes in residential listing and sales of single family homes, townhomes, condos, vacant property, new construction, and foreclosures. He welcomes first time buyers, and enjoys educating his clients to the selling and buying process. Starting his career with Century 21, he has been associated with the RE/MAX brand for more than half his career. His office, RE/MAX Action is the leading technology and internet marketer in all of the Northern Illinois region. In 2014, his office was the #1 office in closed transactions, closed volume, and the #1 office in Illinois in internet marketing. He has won numerous awards and certifications during his career as a REALTOR. Rick, along with his team of a lender, attorney, home inspector and office staff, can help his clients from start to finish, in order to make your transaction a smooth, and stress-free one.
Rick’s interests are sports, outdoor activities, and he has been associated with various community and civic activities over the years. He has volunteered his time coaching junior high basketball for 25 years, and his interests and fund raising activities include Easter Seals, Wounded Warrior project, Knights of Columbus, and other local projects.
Currently, Rick and his wife, S ue, make their home in Winfield, IL., while his corporate office is located in Lisle. He has met many people over the 25 year period he has spent in the real estate business. He takes pride in not only helping his clients list, sell and purchase homes, but also being able to work with many of his client's children, family and friends.
